I took a menu for around 35 euros, to get the usual three dishes, all based on fish. This is why this place seems to be famous. They are extremely well organized, usually it's better to book or you won't seat, expecially for dinner in the weekends (and it's not that little). The service was fast and very good, they run all the time. Place a bit noisy, since tables are quite near to each other. Anyway, the overall food experience was good, the fish was extremely well done (a soup and a main dish). The problem here was the wine: I took half bottle for 17 euros, wine of 2016 (in July 2017). I took a risk, and I was clearly wrong: the wine was sufficient, very simple, what you can expect from such a young wine. You really can't pay so much for such a wine, even in France. They should just pay some more attention to the wine list, it looked to me there was not enough of it.

excellent seafood - fish soup, seafood platter and stew were excellent. Lovely covered terrace on a side street in town. Just a couple of blocks from Le Grand hotel.

Chose this restaurant because of it's high rating on Tripadvisor. Quality of food and choice good, with emphasis on seafood.Tables very small, especially those for two - constantly juggling items to accommodate everything on the table. Chairs also small and uncomfortable. Service a bit chaotic, with no particular waiter taking responsibility. Ordered a glass of wine twice from two different waiters, but it eventually turned up after I had almost finished my meal! Overall, not a relaxing or enjoyable experience.

One of the classics of sea food. Good restaurant. U better call before u go. Service was fast, but not very kind and not very reliable.

Taking a short break in Cabourg I was looking for somewhere to eat on Saturday evening and found Le Baligan and booked it. I was so glad I did. The restaurant was really busy and they were turning people away (always a sign of something good). I really loved this place for a couple of reasons - 1 - it was full of locals and 2 - the food was fabulous. My husband started with oysters and I had prawns and then we had the symphonie de Baligan. A mixture of cooked shellfish served with black spaghetti (squid ink I think). It was amazing. The only minor disappointment was that we ordered 2 tarte tatin for dessert and due to a misunderstanding (probably my very bad french) we only got one - which was a blessing as it was the only part of the meal that wasn't very good. For me there was too much cinnamon and the pastry underneath was more like short crust - although this may be the way they cook them in Normandy. Having said that - it was still an excellent meal and I cannot recommend it enough.
