La Poterne - Brantes

Nous sommes allés à La Poterne fin août, vers 13h00. Seules 3 tables étaient occupées et au moins 5 tables étaient libres, aucun panneau réservé à voir. Ils nous ont demandé si nous avions réservé. Nous avons dit non, puis ils ont dit qu’ils ne pouvaient plus nous servir de déjeuner. Très décevant. Horaires d'ouverture de 11h00 à 19h00, terrasse vide et ne souhaitant pas servir 4 personnes pour le déjeuner. Nous n'y retournerons jamais ! Ils devraient avoir honte ! Nous avons déjeuné à l'Auberge et n'avons vu aucun client supplémentaire à La Poterne. 0 point attribué pour l'hospitalité.

This is a very simple vegetarian restaurant hidden away in Brantes, not easy to find. It is worth stopping at, if you are cycling through, as the food is simple and good, and the view over to Mt Ventoux is fantastic.

We had a light lunch in Brantes at this relaxing restaurant which offers an amazing view on the Mont Ventoux. The food was simple and tasty, coming from local producers, with very good goat cheese, apricot juice and pie. You're there to take your time and relax during the hottest hours of the day. If you are looking for a fancy place, go elsewhere, but if you want the traditionnal post-68 provencal cuisine, this is the place ! And the staff is very kind and welcoming. Bring cash, however, since credit card is not accepted!

We've had great fun travelling rural areas of southern France - just choosing a direction, talking to locals and setting off with serendipity the guide. That was how we arrive in Brantes, about 180 km from our accommodation in Le Crestet. After a visit to the nearby artisans' studio, La Poterne was an irresistible spot to dine. Warm weather and views looking down into the valley and up toward Mont Ventoux were almost sufficient. But, the lunch was plain elegance, including local produce and a classic French omelet that had me wondering how they could elevate a common dish. That left us wondering if the region's foods were truly excellent or if they seemed that way because every other aspect of our visit was fulfilling. Beyond the pleasant memory, I took away a few photos of decorations. Because I use a picture of one bird-like artifact, I'm regularly asked, "What is it?"

Lovely tearoom with the sweetest hosts in an absolutely stunning outdoor spot. Worth taking a detour to see this place.

Disappointed that it was closed today when we visited as I went last year. Stunning views. Found the pottery shop and cafe above though. Atelier de Faiencerie. Very sweet couple who were more than welcoming.

We came here for a drink, but mainly the view - which is stunning. I had a mango juice which was thick and delicious, and my partner had some sorbet ice-cream that he enjoyed as well. Our waitress was accommodating and pleasant, so all in all, we had a great experience here. We would absolutely recommend this place!
