La Villa Tourny - Bordeaux

We passed in this place while visiting Bordeaux. We ordered a greek salad, pasta for our son and a steak. Food was served quickly and tasted ok. However the waitress was arrogant and we were clearly treated as tourists while this was mainly a local place. Disappointing to be treated like this.

We literally ducked in here to shelter from the rain and have a drink. The rain persisted and we had a sandwich which was excellent. As the rain came down harder washing over the electrics the guy told us were turned off we ended up stopping a while. It was a stroke of luck as the guys looked after us really well the food was good and the drinks were tasty.

We were staying close by and went out late and wanted something simple and good. This is a great neighborhood hangout with lots of locals. The scene had lots of people on a Friday night and dance music playing inside. We went in and got what we wanted - an incredible salmon entree and a delicious Caesar Salad. We should have had oysters as they looked great. They had a great St. Emillon house wine which was very drinkable. Simple menu and in English too!

Villa Tourny was a nice surprise. My daughter and I were running from a storm and we found shelter at Villa Tourny. I quickly identified that there were only locals eating here and that's always a good sign. The food was delicious and I recommend the place to anybody who want to try a typical French brasserie outside the tourist traps.

This is really good restaurant, with a great atmosphere, with super attentive service, good Bordeaux wines, excellent meats and fish. Trip advisor says this restaurant is closed on Sunday, however trip advisor is wrong. And they're open late at night too.

Great place to have a casual dinner with good cuisine in an informal atmosphere. I had Duck as my main course which was great. Wine selection is also really good. Would recommend eating here.

Don't ask for a croissant, they are finished, don't ask for a taxi, they don't call it/help you. The bread is good...

Authentic French brasserie in the middle of town but with prices more reasonable than those around it. The staff were very accommodating (lack of French and two vegetarians!) and great fun which made it very enjoyable. Food terrific, all freshly done with local ingredients. The wine list not too scary at all. Would definitely go back.
