L'Orangerie - Béziers

Nous avons réservé pour le déjeuner et nous n'avons pas été déçus. C'était une belle journée d'été avec une ambiance de festival et le restaurant se trouve dans une rue animée des principales allées. La nourriture n'était pas trop raffinée mais honnête, bien préparée et délicieuse. Nous avons eu une escalope de poulet et une salade de saumon fumé. La carte des vins locaux est impressionnante et celle que nous avons choisie est un excellent ajout.

J'ai déjeuné ici en milieu de semaine en février. Malheureusement, il n'y a pas de menu du jour, j'ai donc dû commander à la carte, ce qui fait monter considérablement le prix. J'ai choisi un tartare de saumon en entrée et le plat du jour qui ce jour-là était un poulet basquaise. Les deux étaient correctement préparés et le service était agréable et efficace, mais le prix du plat du jour à 14€90 était supérieur au prix d'un menu complet tout aussi bon comme celui que l'on peut trouver à proximité. Un autre défaut grave est qu'il n'y a pas de toilettes au rez-de-chaussée donc toute personne à mobilité réduite serait en difficulté. Bref; nourriture et service raisonnables, mais un «meny de jour», un prix raisonnable et des toilettes au rez-de-chaussée sont de graves omissions.

We stopped in Beziers on our trip from Nice to Saint Castin. Road-tripping through La France. Great food, great, friendly service, superb weather - Merci!

Tucked away off the beaten track in the old centre of Beziers this bistro has a bar and a few small tables downstairs and a good-sized main dining room upstairs

My wife thoroughly enjoyed her vegetarian meal but unfortunately due to a language error I got the entrecote steak instead of the duck that I was looking forward to. As is normal for French steak it was a bit underwhelming. The service was very friendly and tried hard with English but was also rather slow. Leaving us thirsty and waiting for the bill.

Went to L'Orangerie for lunch. I ordered the duck with ginger jus and it was perfectly pink and extremely tender. It was accompanied by pommes frites (what isn't in France) and a fresh, simply dressed salad. A glass of red wine to accompany the dish was recommended by the waiter and it complimented the dish perfectly and was not expensive. The waitress (I suspect but don't know for sure, the waiter and waitress were also the owner, the care and attention they gave me. I was particularly grateful to the waitress who helped me translate some information I needed re car hire.A very pleasant lunch and I shall certainly return when next in Beziers.

Excellent restaurant the best meal that we had in our 6 day stay. Friendly staff and atmosphere. The veal Cordon Blue with a twist is to be recommended. Novel wine list is a shelf above the bar containing a good selection of wines and you just make your choice. Its nestled in a small side street just off Paul-Riquet Allee. Al fresco dining on a warm evening. Not open on Mondays.Not far from the theatre.
