No es un tres estrellas Michelin pero para llegar a un pueblo perdido después de varios fracasos y encontrar un servicio amable, simpático y eficiente a un precio muy razonable (menú a 13€ todo incluido), vale la pena calificarlo así.

The bar, cafe, tabac is very basic but the food is delicious. All the staff are very welcoming and the plat de jour is excellent value for money 4 courses, starter, main, cheese and dessert plus wine for €12 pp you can't go wrong, well worth a visit.
This is a traditional but popular village bar with a small dining room at the rear. Chef does all the jobs himself from cooking to waiting on. We arrived at 1pm but had no trouble being fed. There is little choice but at such a bargain price who cares? We ate terrine as a starter, turkey kebab with couscous followed by a plate of very tasty cheese, topped off by a delicious chocolate mousse. There was also copious bread and several carafes of wine, all in all a very enjoyable experience. No wonder the locals keep this to themselves!
Cafe/tabac with a restaurant out of the back. I love these type of places and search them out. They are hard to find as they are mainly for locals and unlikely to be reviewed. Simple but excellent fare in a simple but clean environment. Fixed menu with a carafe of water and red wine. I had an interesting salad to start, followed by an excellent chicken stew/soup. I didn't eat the tarte for dessert but had the delicious local cheese. Bread was copious and good. Wine was drinkable. My fellow guests were local workers having their lunch break. I am sure that given the limited menu choice you could manage without much French. Pay the bill at the bar of cafe and drink coffee there also. Not sure if they also serve other meals.
Whilst visiting this region and the Abbey at Benevent L'Abbaye we found this typical French barin the centre of the village. We ate (as did everyone) the Plat du Jour- which was a starter, a main of meat and green beans, cheese and a dessert of apple tart. The basic plain food was excellent, the service was good and this bar was very clean. We liked the feel of a typical local bar at lunchtime.

arrivés dans le creux pendant une semaine, nous cherchions un endroit où déjeuner et nous l'avons trouvé! N'hésitez pas à vous arrêter là-bas : vous êtes reçu avec un sourire et les plats sont excellents ! bravo ! la visite du village est également intéressant
