La découverte de cet établissement aura été un bonheur. Le restaurant est idéalement situé au cœur de la jolie cité de Bellême. Les gérants et serveurs sont charmants et réactifs. La carte est fondée sur l'utilisation de produits frais, de très bonne qualité, et évolue entre classiques de la gastronomie et associations originales sur certains plats. S'agissant des vins, on peut profiter pleinement de la qualité de caviste de l'établissement. Bref, un endroit à découvrir quand on passe dans le Perche!

Whether you start there, pause there or finish there (or all three), Alex welcomes you with warmth before advising you - and surprising you - with his lovingly selected wine collection...difficult to resist seconds once you've tasted Sandra's delicious accompaniments! Don't miss the live music nights - this wine bar and food cellar is a great little venue too (and a handy place to meet people while you're at it).
I go to La Verticale at least once a month and more often in the summer. You can have expensive wines by the glass along with home-made tapas as well as entrees and mains. Most of the patrons are local people or Parisians with second homes in the area. Service is friendly and English is spoken if you need it.
As soon as we walked into this wine shop-cum-restaurant I knew it would be good. Lovely staff, nice simple set-up and loads of excellent wines by the glass, bottle and to take away. We had some delicious snacks - including some black pig prosciutto. A hearty bowl of lamb stew with sweet potato and two great desserts, which included discs of thinly sliced sharp apple with crumbled goat cheese and honey. Odd but worked. Anyway we loved it all, drank some delicious light Loire red, bought a case of wines to take back to the UK and would happily return. Book ahead at the weekend.
This is a lovely new addition to Belleme's food repertoire. We had a really enjoyable meal there tonight. The surroundings are nice - with a wide choice of wines, beers and ciders - and the owners are very friendly. We started with half a dozen tapas between four of us and these were all tasty dishes with locally sourced ingredients. We then chose beef brochettes served with a delicious baked potato, salad and a delectable sour cream dressing. We finished with a range of mini desserts and coffee and a complimentary calvados. All in all it was a lovely evening with friendly service and delicious food. We recommend you try it if visiting Belleme.
We came here for dinner on the back of a friend's recommendation and I'm very glad we did. We were immensely well looked after. The food and wine is delicious and superb value, and the staff were friendly and went out of their way to make us at home. We were back again for lunch the next day which says it all!
We popped in here last night and are so glad we did! The food was delicious - really recommend the prawns and meat platter. The service was great - very attentive and they picked out the yummiest wines.
