L'Isle Sonnante - Avignon

Was on my way somewhere else and came across this little gem of a restaurant, the amuse bouche was a delight, I also had the foie grass with black bread and salad following with a confit if lamb which was served with asparagus fondent potatoes and red wine ju, the meat was a revelation and followed this with a selection of cheeses, salad and bread. The service was very good and although the price was a little more than I had envisaged paying you couldn't fault the value for money a great dining experience.

Tempted to come in by the menu and on the way from the hotel met another couple who said it was well recommended. However shortly after arriving it was clear that this was not going to be a great experience. There was one waitress who appeared more interested in finishing her coffee than serving the clientele. Service was slow and the food was lukewarm. The portions were small considering the price. I went there solely for the ris de veau which was really poor quality. We didn't bother to stay for coffee preferring to finish off the evening at the local cafe in the nearby square. Why did we not complain? Simply because if the service and quality is of this level, you know that there is nothing that they can do to salvage the experience

We wound up at this restaurant when we could not get into the one recommended by our host. It turned out to be our lucky day. It is small and cozy, has a small but good wine list and friendly and helpful staff. I had a pork dish and my wife had monkfish. They were both very good as were our desserts - mille feulle and pans cotta. A couple of glasses of wine and it was a very enjoyable experience. I highly recommend it.

a very nice evening, the restaurant was almost empty because night of week I think. we were seduced by a formula discovered. a rich meal, a small onion service and a great wine list. Added to this fresh products and a very pleasant vintage decoration. I recommend

the restaurant is relatiw small and manageable. the summer terrace was already closed.The fish soup a dense and the fish dishes very fine and lovingly prepared. good wee recommendation - a successful evening.

we came to four with my two children and we had a nice time. the dishes are of quality and the restaurant and friendly. I recommend!!

We had dinner here on the last night of our holiday in southern France. It's not cheap but it is very good in all respects. We had the 42€ menu, Dinner starts with an "amuse bouche" which looked like a miniature Guinness but was actually a tapenade topped with a creamy goat cheese. As a starter I had a carpaccio of St Jacques, which is thinly sliced scallops in a vanilla and lime dressing. It was sublime and allowed the chef to show off his/her knife skills. As a main course I had a coconut milk risotto with gambas - again truly delicious. I have tried using coconut milk when cooking rice and its difficult not to end up with a sticky mess, so top marks to our chef again for pulling this off. Presentation was immaculate, service was excellent, atmosphere relaxed. Highly commended!

Mes anciens voisins ont adoré cet endroit, ils en ont été ravis, alors oui, je devais y aller. Endroit charmant et intime Menu limité.
