L'Ambassade d'Arras - Arras

Beautiful cocktail bar on grand place it's just a pity it was surrounded (in August) by lots of closed restaurants. Very swish inside nice staff and don't forget Jazz the mascot dog!

Bar upstairs and restaurant downstairs - very different ambience for each. I preferred the romantic and cosy feel of the downstairs 'cave gourmand'. Attentive and friendly staff - didn't speak much English (but we shouldn't expect them too!) but we managed. Enjoyed the three course menu at €33 - nice to experience sardines, fresh tuna and regional cheese. Washed down with a lovely bottle of rose wine at €25 - we enjoyed the experience. Upstairs is a lighter and more funky piano bar where you could enjoy the same menu, but the underground 'cave' with interesting curved brickwork and etched words suited is better. A good option in Arras.

great service, great menu and great food. Also a very good wine list of 37.5cl bottles so as to complement different meals when two are dining, We went for a half bottle of Sancerre white to complement the tagliatelle and a Sancerre red to go with the stroganoff, both meals were superb as was the soupe de poisson de mer. Highly recommended

Really funky fab food in the centre of arras. Service very good. Price good and quality excellent. As would be expected the wine was excellent. My steak was cooked to perfection as was my husbands medium rare request. We had the set mean option which was really delicious. You could pick your choices. We reserved a table.

1st time in Arras and found this place by chance, the atmosphere was wonderful, the food was superb, service top drawer. I cant recommend this restaurant enough. Very good value for money, If you are in the area go!!

This is our 4th time to this restaurant and yes we would go back again, but the food/service can vary from time to time..... Always stay in Arras which is a beautiful place, car parking right outside the restaurant. Very busy at weekends and usually a lot quieter during the week. We usually book on a Friday night as it always seems to be busy. We have been twice this year here and our latest visit in June was far better than the one in April. Our food then was cold and the service quite poor. This time seemed better again and we really enjoyed the evening. All ages welcome and next to us there was even a family with a pushchair. Would go again, despite the poor experience in April.

The restaurant was recommended by our hotelier, along with several others. Having wandered around and looked at all menus (all very similar) we were drawn into here by the ambiance. We soon realised that we were very lucky to have got a table without booking - but that table was ours for the evening. We sipped champagne to start with and leisurely ordered our food. My friend has sole and I had steak, my knife slipped through it as if it it were butter - superb! We gossiped and giggled in a lovely relaxing atmosphere for several hours. It was great not to to be rushed, they paced things very nicely. My only criticism would be that no one played the lovely grand piano which sat in e centre of the room....that would have been the icing on the cake!

the food is very good here, tasty and well-cooked. the cocktails are amazing and they have a very good selection of spirits.
