Joli restaurant de poisson près de la mer avec des tables dehors sous les pins. Bon rapport qualité/prix et frais. J'ai visité deux fois une fois en juillet puis en septembre.

We have now had two lovely meals in this charming venue. The food and service were good. Prices were reasonable and portion sizes generous. The menu however is limited but this seems to be normal in Argeles

I cannot understand the complimentary reviews on this site. Our experience could not have been more different. As soon as I sat down, the seat of my chair collapsed beneath me - and no, I am not a hefty woman. Offering no apology whatsoever, the waiter simply exchanged it for a chair from an empty table. So presumably some other poor soul would at some stage have a similar experience. I and my husband both ordered fish soup, a very great favourite. But when it arrived it was nothing more than two enormous bowls of tepid, salty water, tasting very faintly of fish. We ate the croutons and the cheese, but only managed a little of the soup ; but when the waiter removed our plates and said "ça a été?", and we simply nodded in the direction of our half-full bowls, he simply shrugged and walked away. My brochettes de loup were fairly OK, but my husband's steak was mega-tough. The "soufflé au Grand Marnier" announced on the menu turned out to be a commercially-produced ice cream with a couple of squirts of "shaving cream" added as garnish. The whole thing was disgraceful - and for this meal, plus a modestly-priced bottle of rosé, we shelled out 90 euros. Why didn't we complain? Because we were right at the end of our holiday, we had driven several hundred kilometres that day, and we were too exhausted to argue. But we shall certainly not return - and neither will any of our friends.

We visited Le Loupe de Mer recently while staying just down the street. We only wanted a light dinner so only ordered a few things. The fried calamari was certainly some of the best we've ever had anywhere; very fresh, very lightly coated and not greasy at all. My brondade (salt cod casserole) was incredible. The service was excellent throughout the meal, professional yet lighthearted and personable. We were warmly welcomed and had fun with our waiter in a mix of English, French and Spanish. I'm just sorry we only had the chance to eat here once. Le Loupe de Mer impressed me as one of the few restaurants anywhere that understands it's the whole dining experience that counts, not just good food. If we get back to Argeles, we'll go back to Le Loupe de Mer.

We were surprised to find such a high quality fish resto in the midst of all the family catering pizza and fast food joints in Argelès Plage. Tried the regional Mourue and Calamares de la planxa an were amazed. The wine card is small but well assorted with wines from the region.

Usually stay just across the street but in the past avoided due to the bad vibe...this year 2011new owners and attitude. Very welcoming and excellent seafood, the grilled sardines were sublime! Nothing too fancy just the usual suspects, plats du mer, huitres etc. But the staff were lovely extremely friendly and pleasingly attentive, a great local which we ate at several times this June and will return to again next year.
