Une très belle découverte culinaire et une redécouverte de l'endroit. (Je suis venu avec mes grands parents quand j'étais petit, beaucoup de souvenirs) les rénovations sont superbes, la décoration est top. Chapeau aux endroits et à l'équipe.
Quelle belle redécouverte de ce restaurant légendaire du Bassin alésien. La rénovation de l'endroit est belle, moderne, propre, classe, avec une ouverture sur les cuisines, j'ai adoré voir cette belle équipe jeune et dynamique travaille... Dans la plaque, c'était un régal pour les yeux et les papilles. Le chef travaille des produits locaux frais et saisonniers, et sait comment les améliorer pour que nos papilles soient remplies. L'équipe est très professionnelle, jeune, dynamique, bon conseil et écoute les invités... le chef n’hésite pas à aller de table à table pour voir si tout va bien et cet échange est très agréable moi qui suis un fan de cuisine... il nous raconte son histoire, sa passion et nous apprécions vraiment... en bref: belle découverte, nous le recommandons sans hésitation et nous reviendrons avec plaisir pour découvrir les cartes futures...

This is the type of traditional restaurant that is harder and harder to find. In a formal but comfortable setting, one is warmly received and served well prepared dishes by a professional staff that it not even remotely stuffy. Sunday dinner (noon to 14:00) is a delight both for the meal and the surroundings.
The hotel's location and exterior are unprepossessing, but the dining room is a gem and the food and service both immaculate. Reasonable prices and a good wine list.
Don't be put off by the area or the exterior. Once inside, the dining room is absolutely splendid and reminiscent of days gone by. I have eaten here a few times and it has been busy with the locals. Always a good sign! The food is classic French cuisine. You leave still savoring the delicious courses. The waiting staff are ever present and attentive. Well worth a visit.
Would you take your grandmother here? Absolutely!! Le Riche is Old Paris in the provencale town of Ales. It's a century-old hotel opposite the railway station, preserved and updated with the type of dining room my late mother loved. Friendly service appropriate to a regular clientele, but equally welcoming to visitors with allergies, unconventional (small) appetites, and limited ability to speak French. Overall a delight with excellent food and wine, A memorable experience at lunchtime on Sunday when the place was full of happy locals (almost always a good sign, and certainly true here).
As we all know, first impressions can be deceptive. Le Riche is situated in an unappealing part of town (near the station), and from the décor you might think it was stuffy, pompous and old-fashioned. But in fact this is classic French cuisine of the best kind, prepared with loving care and a touch of originality that lifts it clear of routine. Service is friendly and welcoming, and the prices, for quality of this kind, are remarkably reasonable. As they used to say in the old Michelin guides, 'vaut le voyage' - it's well worth making a detour for.
