Visited for lunch with 2 children and a fussy grandparent nothing was too much trouble and all the food was delicious. €158 for 8 with drinks money well spent!

We sat on the border of the canal and were served a wonderfully honest, simple but very good food served by very charming staff. Very much recommended.

We lunched here yesterday and had a really enjoyable meal in a lovely setting overlooking the Hérault. The menu @ €24.90 was very good value and the choices were sufficient to please most palates. The gratinated oysters were beautifully prepared and served, as was the foie gras with its well-dressed salad and toasts. My wife and I both chose the Souris d’Agneau (lamb shank) for our main and it was meltingly soft meat with a tasty gravy, served with excellent little roasted potatoes and a ratatouille. We swapped deserts half way through and both enjoyed the ample portion of Rum Baba and the Tarte Tatin, served with ice cream and whipped cream – Très riche

We ate at Le Bistrot today for the first time, an it won't be our last. The 16:90 euro menu had plenty of choice in all three courses, and the food was well presented. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance, floating on the River Herault. Service was good, and I certainly wouldn't hesitate to recommend this charming restaurant, it is good value for money

Four of us went 14 Sept for the good-value €15.90 Menu: fresh prawns good, also beef kebabs and skate.carafe rosé went well.Waiter OK but busy and overworked. Insurmountable problem are tables crammed in wrh stupidly raked seatbacks meaning the whole meal occasion totally ruined by push & shove until dessert time when thank goodness the tables behind us finished and we found a bit of less cramped space. We all went back 20 Sept very largely as it was one of few places open that Tuesday and it looked less crowded. It was also last day before flight home for two of us so we traded up and chose the €24.90 menu. The starters were good with lovely tartare of scallops and a very fresh seafood platter with oysters & prawns. Three of us had John Dory(St.Pierre) fillets - all overcooked, dry, tasteless. For some reason the carafe rosé tasted really ordinary today. Sadly we were also served by a waitress who obviously wished she was elsewhere; unfriendly, disinterested and in the wrong job. We own a property nearby and over the last 6-7 years have sadly experienced and watched the standard of service as well as food quality in almost all the riverside bistros in Le Grau go down and down. You do so much better just a few miles away from them. We will not bother going back to this bistro.

Really enjoyed sitting on the side of the river Herault and taking lunch. I ordered from the menu and it was excellent. The service was great was very good considering the restaurant was very busy. Do not miss 'le Colonel' vodka sorbet.

Had a lovely meal here last night, we ate from the E15.90 menu and there was plenty of choice - more so than some of the other restaurants with more expensive set menus at E22.I chose a warm goats cheese salad for starter which was very tasty, a steak skewer - perfectly cooked (medium rare) and profiteroles for dessert - all really tasty. The setting is lovely down on the water and the waiting staff are very friendly.Would definitely recommend and go back there, there were plenty of meat and fish options as well an extensive A La Carte menu including very tasty looking pizzas!

Had a very pleasant meal, sitting on the terrace overlooking the river in evening sunlight, watching the boats go past, with a nice glass of rose to hand.Food was well prepared. We had the good value Bistro menu. Staff were helpful and attentive. There is a sufficiently wide choice of options for a vegetarian, a boy + myself. We'll be back next year.
